The AS-Motor AS 940 Sherpa 4WD XL adds larger field tread tyres and extra ground clearance to the Sherpa 4WD platform, making it well suited to rougher paddocks, uneven ground and slopes. At 298kg it remains relatively light for a professional all wheel drive high grass mower.
A 724cc Briggs & Stratton Professional Series V Twin provides 22.4hp rated power and up to 27hp maximum output. Permanent four wheel drive and hydrostatic transmission give smooth control from 0 to 6.7km/h forward and 0 to 6.5km/h in reverse, with the rear differential lock available for demanding traction conditions.
The 90cm surfing mower deck uses the AS cross blade system to cut and mulch high vegetation. Five cutting positions from 80mm to 135mm provide more ground clearance than the standard AS 940, while the deck can move upwards when it contacts uneven ground or obstacles.
